I have 4 512mb i would imagine you only have two slots for ram though..
I'm not sure whether they're ddr2 though, how would i know?

I have 2, 2 gigs in my computer those are ddr2.
I can let one of those go, but they weren't exactly cheap so it depends on your price range.

that's a damn good deal, depending on how old and what's in 'em.

http://www.crucial.com/ they have a quick program that'll tell you exactly what you have...

mostly just hopeing someone had a 512 laying around... can get 3 gig on crucial for $40... so i'll just do that if i don't find something real cheap... just figured 512's are typicaly thrown away when people upgrade... dad was out of em last time i was up there though (computer repair guy)

not sure what the job itself is yet but it's working for a company called cloud10 http://www.cloud10corp.com/ basicly they are a 3rd party call center type deal... last year she worked for em... was a t mobile customer service rep... pretty kewl sit at home on the computer and make decent $$$... new job option has come up but needs more ram for it... worth a look if any of you have somone looking for work...

I paid 100 for the 4 gigs i have.
I can give you one of them for 40, 2 gigs is plenty for what i do now, i used to play all sorts of games needing tons of ram, now it's just over kill. But if you can get 3 gigs from crucial for 40 do it, it's more for the same price.
Mine was a little more b/c it's made to overclock and run faster for games and such.

A 32-bit OS won't recognize anything over 3.5GB in your computer anyways. you'll have to run x64 if you want to see all 4GB recognized at the OS level. Yes 32-bit can support 4096MB of memory space but it won't allocate it all as such.

Yep, i'm running Vista home premium 32 bit.
My nvidia 512mb video card has 128 dedicated.
So i got 4 gigs to give it another 128 " dedicated" persay b/c nothing else could use it. so the cpu does get 3.5, you're right.

It's what I do for a living so I get paid to be a computer nerd.

But doesn't that depend on what interquartile the the data is stored in?
