After the November Timber Lake Off Road Time Trial there was a little bit of chatter from some PORC members about hosting one of the off road time trials. If you guys would like to make this happen please contact me and we can set up the details. I need to know before the end of the second week of January so we can get it in our Febuary/March news letter. Let me know if you are interested and a way to get a hold of you to set it up.

Sounds good. Let's touch base after the holidays but go ahead and put it in your newsletter. I'll get a few of us to put it together. We did it last year and had around 30 people ride it. With your group we'll have a great turn out. Are you looking at the 3rd Sunday in February?

ah good... gives me a good 1st goal for the year :)
...will this just be the "main loop" as in the red loop map sign at pate?

Yep, but we may add the Hangman side to it. The total is around 13 miles.

Yes if Possible I would like to keep it on the 3rd Sunday of Feb @8:00 am, just for constancy.

8am you might not get as good of turn out, might want to make it 9 or so, that will give the FT Walton people some extra time to travel.. I Think the main loop minus bayou would suffice.. People can do a warm up lap on the games first, but thats alot of miles to go balls out.. I'd like to see where im at on just the main loop compared to the last time I did it for time..

I agree with an hour later.
Keeps me from leaving at 6:30.
And my fat ass would rather just ride the main loop, b/c that's mainly all i ride when i'm there.
9am please! 13 sounds good.

Ill have it added to our news letter for Feb 15 @9:00. Can you give me a mileage when you get the course figured out and also the starting location? If the start is not at the water tower on the campus then we also might need directions. Looking forward to this.

The Start will be at the Pate Rd trailhead. Hwy 29 north from I-10 , Rt on 10 mile, cross over Chemstrand Rd and look for Pate Rd to your left. Trailhead is about a half mile on right you will see a dirt lot after the houses. Pay no mind to the No Tresspassing signs along the side of Pate for the power plant.

How long is the course when you do this at TT? If we just do the main loop it's just over 9 miles. If that's about the same you normally ride will keep it at that. If you want to add some miles we can do a 13 mile loop.

Timberlake TT was 6, lets do the 9 mile loop so we can set some good times.. That and people that did the last UWF TT can judge where they are at..

Sounds like it's planned. Sunday, February 15th at 9:00 am riding the main loop. We'll post to the masses when it gets closer.
what is the length of the main loop? i have ridden it once or twice but mostly just the short loop several times around on a given ride.

I still have the signs from the Epic to mark the loop.. I'll get more stakes this time to make it easy..

Thats it. I put a write up in our News letter, which will come out at the end of this month. Looking forward to riding the UWF trails again, it has been a few years since the last time I was out there.
