I got some "Tektro Auriga Hydraulic Disc Brakes" for Christmas... they came pre bled but i think they still have some air in them...

the bleed process is easy enough... but i need to know about the fluid, these use mineral oil brake fluid... tektro apparently uses some stuff that's pink... I just need to know if it's safe to use whatever brand of mineral oil brake fluid or am i locked into using just tektros... i'm fairly certain it doesn't matter but just making sure ;-)

newb question I know but this is my 1st set of hydro's

thanks guys

replacing the crappy V's on my redline ;-)...

actualy still not 100% these will stay on this bike... need to get em bled and broken in before i can decide... also has some hassles running disc on the back of a bike with track ends (had sd7 v's before back there with bb7 disc up front)

$60 buys you a set of take off hydros from jenson 185/160 f/r (they are what I got) leavers are HUGE... but they seem to do OK at stopping my fat butt as they sit (then again V's honestly did an OK job out at UWF).... we'll see how they realy stack up after they get a good bleed and broken in...

I gotcha, i need a new fork first, but if someone has a deal then i'm not going to let it pass if i can help it.

My V brakes haven't failed me yet, but they sure are a pain with having to adjust constantly and quick release to remove the wheels.

could be worse... you could have to loosen your caliper to slide your wheel off (problem on the monkey with the track ends... grr)

True. True.
My buddy has discs and his main problem his centering he's constantly screwing with the knob so he doesn't feel the resistance.
