this is for road bike componentry, but might apply to mountain as well so i will throw it out there. i am pretty sure i have the answer, but want to verify.

if i am running all SRAM can i run a Shimano cassette?

You can.......

When did you go SRAM? Do you like it?

haven't ridden it yet, but i will give you a full report as i am actually getting ready to walk out the door on the maiden voyage right now.

i just got a new roubaix and two sets of wheels and was contemplating my cassette options. it has SRAM and i wasn't sure if the shop had any SRAM cassettes, but i knew they had Shimano. no biggie, i am just not going to fool with the second set of wheels just yet.

when are you coming back out? it isn't that cold out right now......

I'm looking at March 8th to start road riding again.

The Roubaix came with SRAM??

SRAM red/force combo on the roubaix pro. it came with the roval roubaix 322x wheels but i also ordered a pair of the star hubbed rovals...

and, might i add, the whole package is smooth, smooth, smooth.........

although, i must admit all the new technology and carbon looks a little funny with my brooks, but whatever.

Sweet stuff.....I decided to pull my Titus completely apart and get it back into good condition. Just can't justify the $$ for SRAM stuff right now.

That Roubaix Pro SRAM is quite the ride!

it is the probably the nicest thing i have ever owned.

the SRAM stuff takes a bit of getting used to, more so the front mech than the rear, but over all i think i am loving it. i still try to grab the whole brake/shifter lever sometimes, instead of just the shifter paddle, but i think as time goes on i will break that habit.

if you need any bits and pieces i am going to try to sell my allez as a whole or part out the groupset since it is all ultegra.... so, like i said, if you need anything specific, or have a frame you want to build up with nice stuff, just let me know........

anyway, put the titus back together and let's go for a ride....
