I'm looking for inexpensive more than cheap. It's going to be carrying over $6000 in bikes, so I'd rather have a Thule or Yakima. I've had a bike bounce right off of one of the cheaper racks. :( Not fun.
i got mine for about $350. not cheap but well worth the money. i'll let you barrow it if you just need it for a trip.

I've got one that I haven't been using. Just hauling one bike around, I find it easier to just put the bike in the back of the Bronco.
I don't remember what brand it is, but it's nice and sturdy. I bought it from TS in Milton about 5 or 6 years ago, and it's hardly been used. Price was about $150 to $175 when new. It uses a 2" receiver, holds 4 bikes, and I have an extention that makes it sit out farther from the truck (I needed it to clear the spare tire on the back of the truck).
If you're interested, let me know.

Thanks Carl, but it's for my brother. He drives a Jeep Cherokee.

on second thought, $6000 worth of bikes is like 10 bikes? mine only carries 2.:D

That looks like a great deal on that Yakima 2-bike rack. You should check that one out if it will suit your needs.
I'm sending you some pics of mine, in case the other one doesn't work out for you.
