Bikes Plus' website mentions crit rides in Ellyson Industrial Park Thursdays at 530PM. I have friends that live right there and last week I pedaled out just to see what was up but didn't see any other riders. Anyone in the know as to when or if these rides are going to be happening?

These rides use to happen. They haven't been doing them for a while. Every once in a while someone mentions them, but no one follows through.

That's disappointing. I was hoping to see what crit rides are all about.

Yes it is unfortunate because it would be a great way for everyone to push themselves and each other. Maybe we could get it going again this summer.

i think it stopped because they were doing work on copter road. i haven't been up that direction in a while. did they finish? all it takes is for someone to post about doing some loops.

i'd be interested in seeing what it was all about if some folks wanted to try getting it started again.

i was never strong enough to hang with the group for more than a lap or 2 so i would just cruise at my own pace. i can't say it was fun but it was a good way to get in some miles and still chat with friends.

I'm assuming 'crits' is another bike club?

How far is a lap?

Hey
A few of us are going to ride out at Ellyson Field today (6/11) around 5:30-5:45 if anyone wants to join. I know right now its about 4 or 5 of us. Should be a lot of fun.

Crit is short for Criterium (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criterium). From what others have told me, the course is about 1.5 miles long.

are y'all riding tomorrow (6/23)? It's a good thing you didn't go to Tour de Louisiane. The time trial was SMOKING! The first 17 riders in Cat 5 were all under 7 minutes with the time trial winner at 6 minutes 19 seconds or 28.49 mph (4 seconds slower than Don Davis)!! To put into perspective a 7 minute time would indicate an average speed of 25.7 mph
