Sold the road bike. Not to discourage anyone but the first and last time I rode that 60-70 mile ride, in august, I suffered and got dropped, and then suffered alone for the next 50 miles! (Really, I was that bad) Evo's buddy and I made it home though.
But if you have a tandem I'll ride on the back! OR in a BoB trailer..

The weather in May shouldn't be as brutal plus this is a fully supported ride with rest stops, full SAG and lunch afterward.

The Northwest Florida Chapter has big plans for this area but rider registration is very low at this point. The entry fee is $20 and you need to raise $200. The chapter is bringing riders from Jacksonville and Tallahassee has committed some riders as well. They wanted to have FREE post-ride beer but they put the event together quickly and the community center doesn't allow beer service at the site.
For the $20 registration you get
the t-shirt
Morning food
Fully stocked rest stops
Full SAG support
Post-ride drinks, lunch and they're hoping live music

p.s.
The ultimate plan is to have a 2 day 150 mile ride that would tie lower Alabama and Northwest Florida together. There would be a big Saturday night party with complimentary adult beverages for the riders as well as dinner.
