I just installed a set of the "new" ride-on cables. They have changed a bit from the version they were selling ten years ago. Much easier to install than the old version to install and they still run very smooth. They are as close to a frictionless cable as you will find. Fully sealed to keep the gunk out.

http://www.bikemagic.com/news/article/mps/uan/3855 I have said over and over I wouldn't replace my bb7's and Clarks combo with any hydro setup.

Doesn't grease atract dirt? Wouldn't that be a bad thing being pulled into your housing? The Gore has a full lenght liner that keeps the crud out.

Full length housing on the Rita frame, rubber grommets in the ferrules=Butter. I have also installed these on Specialized bikes that require a full housing rear shift cable. They were changing them out almost monthly before the switch and now have gone at least six months without an issue.

Cool. Are they Campy (blasphemy) compatible? I need to swap out the cables on the road bike and that seems like a great product for that.

I'll have to look, and re-post.

I can vouch for this statement. Mark set me up with these on my Stumpy FSR. Before, I was changing out cable & housing every 6 wks or so. I'm going on 1 yr with my first set of these. I'll never buy anything else. But like Mark said, I run a full length housing.

I have them on my brakes with bb5's and will do the shifters when I get around to it. Great response and worry free. Haven't touched them since I put them on.
