i thought it was just me. may need to turn off some of the bells and whistles.

not sure if there are fewer users at night or the tweaking you did worked but it definitely seems faster now.

I'm still having a time waiting for PMs to come up. It's most likely the server we're on. The original website didn't really need anything special to do it's crap but this one is a bit more process intensive. Instead of just serving up static pages it's having to create the pages as it goes. Also the database the pages are served up from might need to be compacted.

There are functions for that in the admin cp.
