1st ride on the SS. It's quiet and smooth....until i apply some force to the pedals and the damn thing slips/skips somewhere on the drivetrain. What is the solution here?

What chain size are you running? 1/2 by 1/8 or 1/2 by 3/32? If you didn't change chains and your single speed cog is 1/2 by 1/8 it will skip. You may also need to change your front chainring out to fit the chain size as well.

took an extra link out an it seemed to fix the problem, but i have not had a chance to ride it yet. BUT...the link in which i moved the pins to shorten the length of the chain seem to be stiff. how do i fix that. just back them in and out with the chain tool several times until they work better?

work your chain back and forth perpendicularly with your hands at the pins. seems to work best on single speed specific chains though.
what i meant was, is your drive train new or is it pieced together from different drive trains? even on a single speed mixing doesn't work. i tried it this week. plus you need to make sure the cog and chainring are in alignment.

as carl said, chain alignment is very important.

the alignment is perfect, jacob did it for me. itd just the 2 stiff links skip over the singulator (sp) cog.

wiggling the two links from side to side might cure it.
check the pins as well.

Went to intamate treasures and picked up some rectal lube. Put it on the section and worked it back and forth, fixed up nice. Got 6mi in today without a problem.

kept setting off the alarm on the metal detector today at the courthouse. guess it has something to do with that rectal lube and 6mi of chain.
