Speak English Sign OK at Geno's (http://digg.com/world_news/_Speak_English_Signs_OK_at_Philly_Shop?OTC-widget)
Finally a success story of a shop owner taking a stand against immigrants not learning the language of the country. I for one am not against immigrants but if you're going to LIVE in the country speak the language. If I were to go live in another country I would expect to learn the language not just expect the indigenous people to cater to me.

I'm not against immigrants, but I am against ILLEGAL immigrants. I had some good friends from Canada who tried to get a Visa. They were trying to be legal, trying to contribute to society, and more importanly tried to pay their taxes. They got rejected due to a wierd issue with an incorrect date on their application and had to pack up with their newborn child and move within a week!?
So, the illegals can hop over here, get free healthcare, get right, and not pay their taxes and no body does a d@mn thing about it!? ...
I'll get off my soapbox now, sorry.

I'm SOOOO for that Dave. It's too low on the totem-pole for it to get much publicity though.
I would like to see privatization of social security though. it'd be a nice change to have a 6% yield compounded over my working life. I'd have something left when i'm older.

Social security is dead, well not yet but very very soon. there will be no SS for us when we get old.
speaking of illegals, when we get one in the hospital who will need long term dialysis, we have the hospital put them on a plane and fly them back to mexico and let them fend for themselves.

Do any of you guys know what the Fair-Tax idea is? And how much it would benefit the country and people who already pay taxes?
well, all I know is that the fair is already expensive enough...taxing it will make hurt the fair industry and result it millions of lost job to overseas fairs. :(

A LOT of taxes you really wouldn't see. Instead of corporate entities having to pay them as much. Prices of goods drop because costs of operation go down and prices quickly settle out to what they normally would be. You also don't get as much taken out of your paycheck because income tax won't be taken out anymore. It all evens out and eventually, within a few years, will drive inflation down and prices down.

even if it would provide clean shirts for every fair worker and at least 3 teeth in every mouth; I still think it's not fair for the working man to have to pay a fair tax.

I like the fair tax, makes taxes more of a choice than a requirement (more constitutional). The more money they make, the more money you spend, the more taxes you pay. Its also great because it will tax the drug dealers and illegal immigrants that our gov't never sees a penny from.

all sounds good but I'd be shocked if it ever happens...the corporate scum have it desicnged in their favor and it will take a lot to have it changed.

Billy hit it right on the head with who it's really targeting. People who DON'T pay taxes which will make things easier on those of us who already do.
