Folks

The December installment of the Timber Lake Off Road TT will be held Dec 20 @ 9:00 am. The course is 7.5 miles of mostly tight single track which is flat and fast. To get to the trail head park on Ranger Camp rd and enter the trail at the bulletin board. Once on the trail stay to the right until you cross an open area and the start is just across the open area. Riders are started one minute apart. The fastest time for November was by Phillip Pollard with a 33:40. Sam Sutton had the top SS time with 34:58. The women's categories top finisher was Annette Manual with 38:51.

So I invite you to come out and set your mark and see if you can knock off the current leaders of the season.

How well do you think the Trails will be this weekend with all the rain? I have run a 10k that the Trailblazers do every year, but that was the only time I have been there. How well are the trails marked.

On a day to day bases the trails are not marked very well, usually just signs at the start of each trail. If you do not know where you are going you can get turned around, not lost because they all will eventually get you back to where you started. For the Time Trial we will have them taped off and there should be no confusion to what the course is. I think the trails will be in good shape with all the rain. It will help pack down some of the loose sand. Hope to see you there. If anyone needs directions to the trailhead Ill try to post them tonight when I get home from work.

Several have asked about the range passes. I have competed in events and not had to have them. I have also had one years ago and we had one person with copies of several drives licenses purchase them all. What is the current situation with the range passes and do we need one for Time Trials this weekend?

Yes, a range pass is required and if you get stopped and don’t have one you can get ticketed for trespassing, and it is a pretty good fine. To get one you have to watch a video on explosives so I don’t think they will give them to one person. You get them at Jackson Guard on route 85 in Niceville.
