Diets suck but so does self control! One of the other guys just cooked a big sausage, shrimp, and crab gumbo. I had a small bowl for dinner but i want more! It smells & looks so good! I must stay the hell away!
The diet is going well so far but its only been three days. I can tell that i'm not eating the sweets, lots less rice, and portions are much smaller. No seconds either!
11-weeks & 4 days to go!

Try easting oatmeal with some granola mixed in it for breakfast.. It will curb hunger longer and also the fiber will clean you out!

at one point in my life I put on 30 lbs of pure fat. Then I decided to lose the weight. We had a cabinet full of crap (chips and cheetos, cookies and twinkies) I used to walk by and open the cabinet and yell at it. I treated it like the enemy. Sometimes I'd yell at it once a day and sometimes once every ten minutes. twenty years later I've been active every since.
It may be one of the most important times in your life.
Good luck,
Your friend,
Ed

We don't have any oatmeal out here right now. I'll put it on the order form for next hitch. Yes, definately could be one of the most important decisions of my life. I'm going to Get R Done or die trying!

don't get the packets they are full of sugar. buy a big tub; it cooks in about 2 min in the microwave. My recipe is as follows: 1-1 1/4 cup of water and half as much oatmeal, 1/2 cup or so of frozen blueberries, cook for 2min 33sec, add 2 heaping tablespoons of milled flax (wal-mart has it really cheap super good for you), 1 scoop of protein powder ( more or less depending on my state of activity) right now I'm using a type with a mixture of the usual ( whey, egg, and casien) the casien really does keep hunger away longer. I also add cinnamon (good for you) and when I can some chopped roasted nuts usually pecans but walnuts are really good for you.
It ends up being a lot of food but no added sugar and only good for you fats. I've been eating the same thinbg for years and it's always good. Even if I end up eating crap during the day I know I've started off right.

Hope the diet is going well. I dont much about your line of work, but I'd be willing to bet you eat out of boredom during your down time.

B/c of the location I am at, I do have a lot of down time. Other places they work from sun-up to sun-down and then the night crew takes over.
Plus, the living quarters here is 10x36. Its literally a small semi-trailer (turned house trailer) welded on to the deck. We have 3 rooms. #1. office, living room, kitchen, washer/dryer, pantry. #2. 2-bunk beds (4 people total) & lockers. #3 bathroom. I spend most of my day in the office and yes it was very difficult slobbering over the little debbie cabinet for a while. I'm not okay with it and found some vanilla no sugar added blue bell ice cream. Unfortunately, I'll be throwing it overboard tomorrow before I leave. :fight:

Weighed in at 299 two weeks ago. Weighed 288 today. We'll see if i can keep up this streak. I have been staying on the road bike as much as possible. I'm also going to try to start using the eliptical 2-3 times a week at work for 20-30 mins.
