...they asked us to pass this along:
Hey P'cola PORC Folks!
Race the Fourteenth Annual Bump N' Grind, presented by Jim Burke Subaru! BNG is part of the USA Cycling USAC-MTB National Calendar (Category 3) as well as the American Mountain Bike Challenge (AMBC) and Junior Olympic program. All proceeds from the race are used in support of BUMP's trail building, maintenance and advocacy activities.
On Sunday, racers will compete for more than $12,000 in cash ($5,000 Pro Purse) and thousands in merchandise. Kids still race for free in the Shimano Youth Series. As always, we will have our great feed zone on the mountain. In addition to the fun of racing the nationally known Red Trail at Oak Mountain State park , we will have live music, free racer food, door prizes and camaraderie. As we have done since our first race in 1994, BNG is in honor of National Trails Day. Paul Tidwell returns again to photograph the race action for your scrapbook, wall or web blog. This year's race will once again be a taste of Alabama hospitality with local foods, live bluegrass music and exhibitors under the trees of Oak Mountain. We hope to see you there.
