Looks like we are headed to Tom Brown or possibly OM. If any one can join let us know.

Weather is gonna be crappy everywhere on Thursday so we pushed it back a day.

There and back on Friday?

I might be up for it. I haven't been to OM yet.

For those who can make it would you rather hit OM or Tom Brown (in Tallahassee)?

Either one we would just be a day trip coming back that day.

I'm good to go... just cleared it with work.
I really want to get up to OM, but it looks like Tally will be 20 degrees warmer Friday, according to weather.com.

My vote is for OM, but I'm in for either one.

FYI, the locals in Tallie told me today that Tom Brown is open and "off the chain". Locals reports are that Trail Dynamics really went all out and there is talk that it will be readded to the SERC series as well as the Florida Cup. Guess they lost both events a couple of years ago because of trail conditions. They also say the Red Bug is about 6-7 miles of somewhat technical trails in town as well.

Let's shoot for OM this time and hit Talli soon.

Wanna plan to meet at the Winn Dixie on Hwy 29 Friday at 6:00 am? Does anyone want to volunteer to drive that can take a few people?

Looks like possibly Dave, Chris, Felix, Nate, Mike and me so far unless I'm missing someone.

Mike said he could drive so we may just need one other vehicle.

I'm out. My shoulder blade started bothering me on the way home from work. i couldn't imagine sitting in a car for another 10hrs with this pain.

I can only haul two bikes with my car and rack, so I'd rather ride with someone else and pitch in for fuel.

Dave and a couple of others are interested in leaving earlier say 6ish if anyone else wants to leave earlier...

Why would you want to leave early? Are you going to ride without the rest of the group?

superdave

I'll leave the same time as everyone else. I was hoping to try to get up there a little earlier so that the folks that wanted to could fit in two laps. Eric, Chris, and Nate all said they wouldn't mind leaving at 6.

If everyone is good with it lets move it up from 7:00 am to 6:00 am at the Winn Dixie on Hwy 29.

You may want to check the site again in the morning to make sure nothing has changed.

Looking forward to it!

I know but Mike was the first to offer to drive and he asked to meet at Winn Dixie on Hwy 29.

Glad to see we have a good crew going!

Anyone else volunteering to drive?
If so, how many riders and bikes can you take, other than you and yours?

Yeah, it was a good trip. Can't wait to get back up there. I fell back in love with my bike yesterday. Those type of trails are what my bike is made for.

F/S is really fun at OM. I thought the same thing Dave.

If that were my local trail, I'd definitely be riding FS!!
I've got a Giant Warp sitting in the garage collecting dust, but that's a Heavy bike. I don't think I'd want to do the fire road climb on that thing.

I feel the same thing. I think the F/S bike lets me ride for a longer period of time. Over a shorter distance (like a short MB race), I'm not sure suspension is very important. You as a rider can stand and absorb the shock in your arms and legs. This is tiring however and we only have so much to give. I have ridden solo in 12 hour races and 24 hour races. I didn't see as many H/T's or rigid bikes in the longer races. Robbie B rode a F/S bike to WIN the Florida MTB championship series a couple of years ago. He experimented with H/T's and found the F/S to be faster in the races. FWIW, I think Robbie's F/S bike weighed in at 21 lbs and 3 ozs.
