The only other place I could think of to have said meeting would be at the Ale House. Problem there would be noise though. TJ is about the only real place we have which serves all the requests we have and I think if we asked the Manager would probably even give us a discount of sorts just to have our meetings there like on mass beer consumption or the salsa and chips.

I personally am over tj the food is way less than exciting and it is like they arent ready for a group that large. Plus being in the same room as all the other unsuspecting patrons at dinner hour and we are trying to hold a meeting? But I guess that I am the only one who sees this as an issue. Montereys has a room towards the back big enough for a group our size, full bar and good food. It is also right in the center of town, seems silly todrive out to the place where we ride bikes and not to ride bikes. Also coyotes serves a mean guiness and a smokin hot day bartender.; Marty

Your preaching to the choir Marty.
But the congregation is not listening.

let's stick with TJ's this time and see how many people are ok with changing locations. i'm also up for monterey's if everyone else is. the only bad thing is those who sneak in late after a ride will be really late if we move it to monterey's. besides that monterey's has better food.

You know, to compromise, we could choose either Vallarta's on 29 or Casa Ole on Olive Rd. if you wanted to stay close to the trails.

Los Rancheros beats the bike shorts off Casa Ole.

But more importantly - Marty: where is this Coyotes place with the good Guinness and the hot bar lass?

Across from women's dillards at Cordova. Monterey's is right next to it.

okay, so what's it going to be? TJs or someplace else? I just need to plan because I have to drive from the West side of town and I like to avoid traffic if I can. And why always mexican? could we consider other options like wings at that "Owl" place or something else? Nothing wrong with mexican but maybe break it up once in awhile. but yes we have much to consider such as location, meeting space, beer selection, food selection and ambiance. But I'm for whatever this democratic group of PORCers want to do. It's about the camaraderie, eh?

let's stick with TJ's and make it a farewell meeting. the next place can be wherever the group decides. changing it now ill screw it up for 1/3 of the members who don't read this forum everyday. whoever drinks the most beer gets to decide.

I think they do actually...

I remember my wife and I going there with the kids and seeing a pitcher. After putting up with mine and other peeps hoodlum kids running around greasy and screaming at the top of their lungs, I quickly saw how a pitcher of beer (no matter how expensive it was) was worth it for ANY parent... haha!

I've thought the same thing! That would be awesome!

Oh, and up on 9mile, Times Grill is pretty good. Have good burgers and seafood poboys and a 2 for 1 drafts from 4-6pm. Have a pretty decent beer selection. We could throw that into the pot for a meeting.

Hey, this relates to the signage thread, but I talked to Tanner today, and it sounds like some board will need to see the signs in order to give a yay or a nay. Tanner should be at the meeting, so if there is a spare sign, or a good picture of the signs, then it would be great if someone could bring one so Tanner has something to show the committee.
I'll see everyone this evening!

i'm gonna bring it up tonight at the meeting and hopefully we will be able to get some samples in the next few weeks of what we want to use for uwf's approval. i would like to get ideas from the members on exactly how we want them to look but also want to present all signs, not just the main trail head sign, to the board at the same time so we can hopefully get all approved. the other signs would include the "no atv" sign, a sign for each trail head with the distance of the trail, etc..., and possibly a "trail maintenance sign" (i have an example i'll bring).
