We need everybody’s help. A bill has been sponsored in the House (Bill #4089) and in the Senate (Bill #628) to Eliminate All Soil and Water Conservation Districts in Florida. This will eliminate both of our jobs, but that is minor compared to what it will do for the Natural Resources of Florida. I am asking all of you to email a letter to your representatives to stop this bill. I am attaching a document that explains what is going on and one that shows what our organization does. We have letters already made that can be emailed. Please PM me or email me at Home: jtritt@panhandle.rr.com or Work: Jason.tritt@fl.nacdnet.net so I can get a letter to you that has the correct representatives, county, and Soil and Water Conservation District for you area. For the letter I will just need to know the area you live in. If you need any more info please PM me or call me 206-0740. The more of these letters we can get out the better, so get them to your friends and family if you can. I would really appreciate any help you can give.

Thanks in Advance
Jason

Good letters - consider the e-mails sent.

This budget push has the potential to affect so many people.

Lets just keep cutting education as well
http://www.nwfdailynews.com/news/budget-37384-education-funding.html

My daughter is Vice-president for SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco) at Pace High. There is a proposal to cut out all funding for the project including the county tobacco prevention specialists since the program is NOT BUSINESS FRIENDLY. If funding becomes available the funds would be directed to physicians to help people quit tobacco use. I do have to admit that providing money to pharmaceutical companies and patient care is business friendly as opposed to decreasing tobacco sales and consequently the taxes on tobacco products.

Thanks to thoes that helped. The bill has been retracted from the Senate, and we are now waiting to see what happens with the House. Lot of letters we sent from all the counties in Florida, and it seems to be helping. Thanks again for all your help.
