First of all I wanted to thank all of you for your hardwork on the trails this past weekend. I know how long it can take to clear a trail. It took me 8 hours to do greenbriar on my own a few months back.

This was a very tough course and alot of fun. There were some climbs that were at 15% and some that were steeper at certain points and one that I had to dismount because of how steep it was and the mud.

Billy Hudgens 1st Expert 19-29
Keith Moore 1st Sport 30-39
Thad Smith 4th Sport 30-39
Joe Damaso 1st Sport 19-29
Chris Davis 2nd Sport 19-29 (Different Chris Davis)
Ronnie Otts 8th Sport 19-29 (Still sick from food poisoning so his goal was to finish)

Hope to see all you guys on the newly groomed trails soon.

-Billy

WOW!! That's awesome. Congrats to everyone. How are you guys doing in team points? I know you guys were in 2nd, but this weekend had to close the gap a little.

We also have couple team members from Atlanta who also did well placing 1st and 3rd in beginner. Great show everyone. We should be 1st in standings by now. I think we need another expert in our team to compete against Billy. He's stealing all the fun in expert.

Just hope he doesn't meet a Tonya Harding then.

And didn't you mean "He's getting ...boared up there"? LOL Oh behave!

Not to burst your bubble or anything but there were a few incognito Mobile Velo members out there (i.e. we haven't gotten our jerseys yet). I think there were 7 of us total. I think all but 1 or 2 of us finished in the top 5 of our respective classes so you may not have closed the gap on us much as you thought. :p

All that aside, that was a very impressive showing for you guys.

Matthew Taylor - Men/Beginner 30-39 4th place

SCRCS team standing is not just based on team performance, it's based on the amount of player. I'd say we recruit harder instead of train harder

How do they determine which class you'll race in? Qualifying?

Honor system. They can tell if you're sandbagging by your times, not that they'll do anything about it. If you're blowing everyone out, race after race, by 10+ minutes, you're probably sandbagging.

Oh no, I'd be starting beginner but there's no way I'd have enough time to do it and I think honestly I'd rather race on a FS. Why don't you race Dave?

Just saw the standings and you guys are in first, just can tell by how much since the team points were not updated.

Great job guys!

I like to win too much, but I'd have to train to win. If you look at the three guys that were faster than me in the time trial, they all train. That's what it would take to get to that next level. Plus I don't want to take something that I love and turn it into a job, like what tends to happen when you start competing. It happened to me with wakeboard and I'm pretty sure it would happen to me w/ mtn biking.

if any porcers want to race with us on the next race that would be cool,
help us stay ahead of the other teams. we need beginners, old guys and women.
