If any one will be on the UWF campus soon would you mind taking and posting a photo of the kiosk they made for the Frisbee golf field by the pool? We'd like to get approval to make one similar to it for the Pate Trail head but don't know what it looks like. Thanks!

I'll be heading over to school tomorrow, so I'll try to remember the camera in my early morning stupor. I'll also see if I can get plans for it from Tanner; I think he said something about having access to them.

Here we go. Dimensions are approximately 7.5' tall by 3.5' long by 8' wide. I estimate that it would take four 10' 4x4's, 40 feet of 2x4, two sheets of plywood, one 8' 2x10 and a few shingles. If you wanted to cut down on the required plywood, it would be easy to use sheet metal roofing.

Actually, I have some left over shingles and drip edge from when I did my roof last year if you wanted to use it. I should have enough for a 4' x 8' roof. Good stuff too, 50 yr architectural shingles.

Thanks!

Asa, how do we get in touch with Tanner to see if he can present to the board a proposal to allow PORC to build two kiosks like the one the UWF has already created (one to be built soon and placed at the Pate Trail head the other to be built at a later time and possibly placed at the boardwalk entrance to the trails) and the "Property of the UWF..." sign we have on the "new sign" thread? http://www.porc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=385

I know the beautification board only meets every so often so it would be best if we could get this to him as soon as possible. The only other sign we want to get approved is a map of the entire trail system (being created now) with both the short and long loops highlighted on it. We will be placing four of these on the trail system with a sticker that says "you are here" on them.

the only problem is that this one has already been approved by uwf.

let's do look at some other plans and send them to the board as well in hopes that if it is nicer they will be ok with it. do you think adding a wet bar to the front would be too much?

this one looks a lot more sturdy and has a nicer roof imho. i think the roof could be a little lower and it should be strapped down. the 6x6's look nicer than 4x4's. the other one looks like the one at swayback. that one isn't holding up well. just my $.02

And a good 2 cents it is. The larger lumber will hold up longer.
