I rode the trail at the Tarklin Bayou State today and thought it rocked
The park is located half way down Bauer Rd
Sandy in spots, a bog or two along the way but very ridable
+/- 8 miles, check the attached earth google jpeg

I road out here when I first starting. It was a mud hole, but we were in a rainy season and new to mountain biking. I haven't been back since. It would be interesting to see what I think about it now. The trail on the park side is 7.2 miles. There is another trail on the other side of the road, but I don't know if you can ride it with a bike.

I'm across the bay in Baldwin County, so I'm very interested if this turns out to be a good place to ride.

I rode out here this morning. It was totally different than the last time I rode here. Last time (two years ago) it was a mud hole, but this time it was dry and sandy. It was like ridding at the beach. The entire trail is a double track (jeep trails), and the first 1.5 miles is well used and very sandy. After that it isn't to bad as far as sand, but could use a good mowing. The sand adds some difficulty to it because I ran about a 10 beat higher average on the HR monitor, than I do on the Red trail at UWF. That is pretty crazy since there is hardly and elevation change. I also rode the trail on the other side of the street, but I wouldn't go over there unless you just wanted more miles.

definitely sandy in spots, its also very dry out there right now
all it needs is a couple of hundred dump truck loads of dirt for a little up and down
still it's nice to be able to get off the road on the west side
yesterday I got a warning from DEP for not having my dogs leashed :(, and almost got a citation for not paying......don't forget to cram $3 into an envelope before riding
it's still worth it

Yeah I didn't give a really nice review, but everybody should give it a try to see what they think. I'm sure it will ride different for everybody.
