I bought my first pair of Shimano (XT level) SPD pedals. I used them for the first time at the Epic and they are very nice. Much tighter feel than the crank brother eggbeaters that I was riding. I look forward to giving a better review after putting more miles on them. The initial review is that I like them a lot.

I converted to XTR SPDs from crank bros about 4 months ago. For me, they are much better. A much more "connected" feel to the bike and they don't trash your shoes like the CBs do. They're slightly harder to get into than the eggbeaters and weight a little more, but the trade offs are worth it to me.
