Ok since everyone else gave their Oak Mtn biography here goes... My day started at 3am after 5 hours sleep I was on the road to Birmingham.. (PORC meeting kept me up past my bedtime) I worked for a few hours and hit the trail about 11.30am.. Everone kept saying get rid of the climb first, sooooooooooo.. I started out on the monster climb. Damn this realy sucks thinking to myself untill it finally leveled off and I though wow that wasnt so bad...ooooh but it wasnt over yet I soon found out.. Ya know I now know where HELL exists above Heavan and I was on Hells accent.. Holy crap.. (now I know not to go this way unless I had a good nights rest and a box of Wheaties..) I make it almost to the top and finaly gave out and walked my bike not knowing I was only 100 yards from the summit and that Oh so beautiful bench.. At this point I though I was really screwed.. There I sat dead exausted and I was only 3 miles into it.. As I sat on the bench eating my cliff bar sucking down water, A monarch butter fly landed on my shiney red magura break levers and with the back drop of the trees it was a sight to be seen. I thought to myself wow God and all your wonder.. Then I remembered the other guys story of the Smoking Hottie from North Carolina or somewhere does not matter.. And wondering why I didnt get a HOT chick instead a stupid F ing butter fly on my breaks... Feeling better I proceeded on my way making it past the imfamous Blood Rock (walking my bike like a pussy yet again) for the scariest 20 feet.. Anyway the only reason I am writing this Is to bitch I got a butterfly over a hot chick... Rest of the trail was fantastic after that bla bla bla bla.. Finished un about 2 and a half hours taking it pretty easy not knowing what I was up against.. I think next time will be much better, because dumb ass will remeber to lock out his suspension for the climb.. All in all a great trail.... Does anyone play golf? Did you see that course?

I hated seeing those water crossing signs on the first climb. It ment a steep climb after the crossing. I saw alot more roadies that mountainbikers on my trip last weekend. I was impressed condsidering it was 100 degrees.

Has anyone taken their mtb on the BMX track. It was closed for repairs when I was there, but someone told me that mtb's were aloud.

MTB's are allowed. Ask Kleinguy about riding the BMX tracks at OM, but I warn you, it's a painful story...

I used to tear up the BMX track up there. It is fun. Last time I was on it a little kid about five said to me on the gate " stay away from me, you are scaring me"! It was funny. I guess he didn't like the sound of a freight train screaming past him in the turns.

That's what I'm talkin about Rob! I wish I had your guts on the trails dude. You look like you have so much fun just bouncing off of things.

I was born in 1981. Doesn't that make YOU feel old.

No, the fact that the Playboy Playmate of the month was born in 1990 the year I graduated from High School makes me feel OLD.. but all is good when I can run the main loop in 52.38 at 36 years young..
