Maiden Voyage

Tonight will be the first time I get a chance to ride with my new light. I'm planning on riding 1 loop with the regular 5:00 group and then riding another loop with lights. I'll have a spare set (helmet and bar lights) if anyone wants to stick around and take another lap. I can actually split them up and two people can do the 2nd lap with us. Any takers?

Very intriguing. I have never done a night ride and would love to do one especially if there is some equipment I can use before sinking money into it. I can't make it tonight though. Post any other nights you guys do a night ride and I would love to try it out sometime.

I haven't done a night mtb ride in a while, but I've got a DIY light that you'd be welcome to borrow for a night if you wanted. I'm still trying to figure out a decent helmet mounting system for it, but once that is done it should be pretty good on the trails.

Asa, try the helmet mount you can buy on JensonUSA. My homebuilt light is being mounted to it. and I hope to have mine going here soon. Night riding is SOOO much fun. You'll love it. Dave got me hooked last year.

missed ya last night Dave, I ended up doing three laps; two with lights actually two and a half w/lights. My set up should hold up for three w/lights.

Lights were nice. The bike didn't hold up. I've got some creaking in the suspension or bottom bracket. I took it to cycle sports but they didn't get it fixed. I'll drop it off again tomorrow and hopefully have it ready for Friday. Do you want to try to ride then?
