Ididaride is a 50 mile endurance ride around White Springs Florida.
Registration is now open and closes early. Got to www.suwanneebike.org to download a form.

We usually have quite a few from our area that go each year. Several have already sent in forms.

Thanks Lori for the post. I heard a rumor this event was already full, but i guess they were wrong. I did this 2 years ago and was probably the hardest thing i ever done. I'm in much better shape than then so I'm going back for revenge.

I think you are thinking of San Felasco in Gainesville. It is aleady full. Ididaride reg just opened and is not full yet, but fills fast.

Yes, it is definitely something to prepare for. Good motivation.

Call me crazy but I think this year is going to be the year I try IDIDARIDE on my single speed. ::eek:

Dan, you just really love pain don't you? Weird that you hate running so much since you can definitely torture youself so easily doing it. I'd think it would be right up your alley.

Maybe I can keep up with you if you ride the single speed. My goal for this year is to ride 50 miles without wrecking. You can stop laughing now.

Can anyone compare the 50 mile UWF race to the Ididaride. I put my check in the mail today. I figure the ride would give me the motivation to get in shape.

Scott, its like 25 miles of the road leading out of the campground at OM, 20 miles of the road from the Boyscout bridge to the OM summit, and 5 miles of blood rock, but dont wory you will be in too much pain to care..:fight:

Scott,
It was really nice riding 2 years ago. Nothing terribly technical other then some big steps. We went down them 2 years ago and I rode them, so they can't be that bad.
They were uphill the year before that...far above my talent level. I'd image the recent race was much more challenging. Besides...about the time you get really deperate you hit the Wine and Cheese stop. No worries after that!

We usually cook up a meal the night before. Let us know if you want to join us.
I have a cabin in the Stephen Foster Park. Dan and his wife are also staying there.
The rest are camping in the park.

I did some of my best riding in those last 10 miles. Or at least it seemed like it....

Do you know if there is anymore cabins available. I stayed in the old White Springs B&B last time which you have to share a bathroom with 8 other rooms.:(

Im taking both my Epic and my SS for what will be a game day decission. If we get a wet spell and the double track ends up holding bottom bracket deep water like it did three years ago I honestly think the single speed would just be hell in conditions like that. With that said Im really hoping to do this on the SS.

Not withstanding rain, is it normally a pretty dry trail. I running the Kenda Small Block 8's. Their great on hardpack but I cant imagine them being too good in the mud.

3 years ago it was a total mud hole.

It has only been dry 1 out of the past 3 years. The first year was mud and standing water bottom bracket deep all day long, but it was warm that year. Last year was a steady down poor with temps in the low 40's and a good amount of standing water with a good amount of mud. There are a lot of logs and roots to cross and once they got wet they were very slick. The second year it was dry and sandy. Seeing all the sand year two confused me because the previous year there was no sand, it was honest to goodness mud and Im not sure how mud was made from sand. What ever the conditions I have enjoyed the ride all three years.

I didn't think it was all that sandy the year that it was dry. I remember mostly packed stuff and the one mud hole that I managed to pay a close personal visit to. Luckily the wine and cheese stop occurred shortly after to provide consolation.

The long clay road rides we do before Ididaride help a bunch. I am thinking of doing a very easy clay road ride after the Dec 21 Time Trial if anyone is interested.

Disclaimer...it will be a VERY easy ride as I am running a 10k on Saturday and my old lady legs will be very tired.
