Last year Maria McIntire organized a Cranksgiving ride in FWB. Dragon Sports allowed us to use the shop at our base.

This year Dan Steighner is doing it. Most of the participants were off-road types, so I thought it was appropriate to post here about it. Maria gave us a list of grocery stores.

We had to ride to each one and purchase an item on a grocery list. The winner was calulcated via a combo of weight and time. We collected 500lbs of food to give to the local food banks and got a great workout.

You do have to be careful riding. We rode sidewalks mostly, but we went to the backs street stores off Hollywood, the Publix on Mary Ester, the Publix on 98, the Winn Dixie in UpTown station, the CVS on Beal. 20ish last year.

Yeah, i'm only concerned with the start but i guess at 8:30 it should be alright.

You said it's just mtb or any?
I think i'm game.

I think an mtb is probably best. Everyone rode mtbs last year. A commute bike might work. Most used semi-slicks and pumped up the pressure.

Yeah well it was in December last year too, but Cranksgiving sounds cool. It took Dan too long to cave and agree to organize it ; )
