I had planned on being able to ride it both ways, but that may not be possible without an alternate route through that double dip thingy into the ravine. I also had the idea of maybe planking the dip; that might make it easier to climb and keep the erosion down. Once we open up the other half of the trail, I'll probably go back in a change some of the really awkward turns.

That's not a bad route. Any time we didn't drive all the way in there, we just parked at the nature trail on campus. It's about a 15 min walk from there.

I'm planning on doing some TM on Friday and/or Saturday. I may do a few small reroutes on what's been finished and start clearing the unfinished portion of trail (mainly hacking out root balls). Would anyone be willing to help either day? I'm flexible on time, but would probably prefer to start early and finish up by noonish.

Would like to, but I have been nursing a bad back for a while now. Plan on trying to ride on the 1st of the year, so swinging a landscape ax is probably a bad idea. If this back thing doesn't go away I will probably have to go back to my Chiropractor after the Tour de Felasco.

Spent about 4.5 hrs today working on the Bayou trail. Finished a few small reroutes to hopefully make things flow a little better, cut out the two logs that were momentum busters, and started working on the unfinished side. It now has 500' almost rideable (aside from a little chainsaw work and some raking). I ended at the Descent. I thought about clearing the first part of Descent across from the end of Coke Can, so that you can enter the Bayou trail there and won't have the awkward turn from that wooden platform. I'll probably go work on that in the morning starting at 8. Any help would be appreciated. Should only take 2-3 hrs to finish.

Another 4 hrs today and completed the section I was working on yesterday. Now, you just go straight when you come out of Coke Can (into Descent, for those that are familiar). That trail spits you out at the beginning of the Bayou extension that was completed a few weeks ago and is a much easier route over that platform that is laying across the jeep trail. Enjoy!

Thumbs up Nice job

Thanks for all the effort Dave! I look forward to riding the new route.
Does it look possible to reopen Descent to the bottom again to add another technical section?

Thanks Dave for all your work. I hope you got some help, and again I am sorry I couldn't make it.

Another day of TM on the Bayou loop today for Wayne and I (about 4hrs each). Today we planked one of the dips that we thought could be an erosion problem and did a reroute just after. Here's what it looks like now; it should flow much better now.
