Default Need to buy a mtn. bike

I am looking at buying a used, light-weight mountain bike to use for both recreational and also racing....mainly adventure races. I have been borrowing a sweet one for the past year and a half since my last one was stolen..

Dan Steighner (Niceville rider) is selling his Specialized Epic that he just bought last year for $2500. He has done some upgrades on it, I know he likes it a lot. He has the geared 29er bug though.
