Should I ride at all on Friday if Im doing the IDIDARIDE (50 miles) on Sat?
I did 15 slow miles today (Thurs). I wasnt sure if I should to any more riding before the event, or just rest.

Default To ride or not to ride?

That is the question.
Everyone is different. If you want to ride, by all means do so. Just don't do anything that wipes you out for the day.
I'm sure you know what effort, and time, you put out when you feel like you just put in your best lap time. Take that effort and add 10 to 15 minutes to it, and you will not feel any ill effects from it.
Everone is different. If you are not use to riding the distance and you feel like you have put in some quality rides in the last week, then take tomorrow off, and like Carl said, drink lots of fluids. Even on the way to White Springs. If you are the type of driver that never needs to stop for a pee break then you are not drinking enough. The bad news here is that if you are not properly hydrated now...you won't be for the ride either. It's too late. Drink what you can, but don't over do it now because that can hurt you too.

Best advice I can give for the day of the ride:
Eat a good breakfast. Even though they have food at the stops take your own food just in case they don't have anything that you like. (You should always go into a ride, and ride, fully self supported for this reason.) At the half way point they use to serve spaggetti. If they still do at least eat some of the pasta plain. If you know you can eat a heaping plate of sause and not have any stomach issues then do it, but trust me by the time you reach the halfway point plain pasta will taste good.
No matter how good you feel don't get caught up in the fast group at the front. You will pay the price later in the day, and possibly not be able to complete the ride. After all, that is the reason to do this ride isn't it, to finish?
Good luck, and remember, ride your own pace. Even if that means watching your riding buddy ride off in the distance. There will always be another rider around to ride with.

Excellent point about the pee-breaks. Luckily, I have an iron stomach so I'll be able to take in plenty of calories during the ride. Its going to be a learning event. Ive never done anything like this before so it will be interesting.

Ah, the pain. Those long rides aways have some serious pain. Take a couple alevie about half way, carry Tums they will fix those crampies. Maybe I should have said "eat Tums". Drink a lot water; if you don't have to pee every couple hours, your not drinking enough. Chill the day before the event. Only light stretching, no real exercise. Good luck
