Default 2011 Tour de Felasco

Dan S, Ed S, Carl and I drove to Alachua, Fl for the 2011 Tour de Felasco on Friday afternoon and returned Sat. evening. We all rode the 50 miles and enjoyed beautiful weather and great comraderie. Carl lost a pedal at about 18 miles in and rode the next 32 miles on the pedal spindle. Kudos to an extraordinary effort. Riding time was 4 hr 55 min for Ed, Carl and myself with Dan coming in at just over 5 hours. Hardest part of the event is the 5 and 3/4 hour drive to and from the event. Well worth the trip. The trails were in great shape. And, yes Nate, it's not all singletrack but the double track sections allow for side by side riding which allow for some storytelling. Food was good at the stops, and Ed got his Heed headache. The curry chicken sandwiches seemed to be a big hit.
Happy trails.......

Default Google view

I used a free GPS app on my Blackberry to capture some of the excitement. Here's a Google Earth file you can at least view the foot print of the trek. I think we only scraped the surface for the amount of trails out there.

it was fun even though i had to gimp 2/3 of it. the weather couldn't have been better, mid 50's the whole day and full on sunshine. i had no complaints at all although a butt massage would have been nice on the ride home. thanks to steve for driving and ed and dan for hooking up the rooms.

Sounds like a fun road trip, too bad about the mechanical but as I would expect, Carl adapts and overcomes. Any body get any pics?
