Exclamation UWF Trail Work

We will be having a trail work day on 10/06/2013 that is this Sunday at the UWF trail head. We will meet up at 7:30am. Anyone who rides between now and then please post up here the areas that need the most attention. If you can't make it on Sunday and want to do trail work any other time feel free to do so, and post up in the maintenance section to let us know what you have done.

other than general clipping & sand removal (mainly Carl's) there's an awkwardly positioned downed tree on Wantz way that's in a spot that might blind-side out of towners.

The water bars on the whole Blue loop need extensive work, but that might have to wait until after the Epic. For the races, the trails that I recall needing the most trimming are Chute, Wolf Pelt, and Cambodia.

The trails that need sand removal are Pate, Greenbrier, Chute, Cambodia, and Carl's Trail.

I'll try to take better mental notes when I'm on the trail this week

Just a heads up. If that storm comes here, we will have to postpone the trail work.

I'll get out there sooner rather than later and take care of the log on Wantz Way. There's also a large dead tree on Labyrinth I need to get but I forget since last night exactly where it is.

There was nothing on Labyrinth this morning... guess someone else removed it.

It's still standing. It's near the bypass split I think. All the bark is off of it and it's about 20" in diameter. Only a matter of time before it comes down and blocks off the trail if I don't fall it in another direction first.

And would anyone mind if I take out that awkward log on the corner on centipede where it's a tight turn and if you don't hit it right you'll get thrown over your bars? If you're riding backwards coming from breakout. It almost gets me each time.

Needs to stay.

That trail, along with Donkey Kong and Paper Boy, are designated "difficult" which means they should have some challenging tough spots. No shame in hike-a-bike if one doesn't feel confident with their current skill level.

The log on Czechers is fair game though since that is an "beginner" trail.

Yes it needs to stay. If it is an obstacle on the Main side Blue or on the Games side Orange it needs to stay. We will be discussing that at the next meeting.
