Exclamation Trail Maintenance for Fat Tire

We will be doing trail maintenance for the Fat Tire at UWF trails on Oct 26th, and 27th. Meet up at 7:30am in the parking lot. We need to focus on sand removal, and the vegetation on Cambodia and the Chute. If you can't make it out on this weekend go out anytime you want.

On Friday Candice cut vegetation on Carl's trail from trail head to new bridge.

I rode the entire red loop today with the chainsaw strapped to the back. Cut all the heavy stuff that was hanging down in the trail (about 4 locations), cut the tree that was down on Wantz and cut 3 dead trees that were leaning and ready to fall on the trail -- 2 of them simply fell on the trail when I pushed on them and all i had to do was dismember them and push them off the trail. Unless we have a hurricane I don't think we will need to cut any big stuff before the races but I will be ready if we do.

ps: note to self: before riding on the trail with the chain saw, make sure it works. I rode saturday to wantz to cut that tree and the saw would not fire... not one of my finest moments... but I got everything working this morning and went back around noon and took care of business.

I am not going to make it this morning. I have a leak at the house I have to find. If you show up just attack what ever section you think needs it.

No it was much worse, but I am 95% sure it is fixed now. As soon as everything dries up I will know for sure.

so what is left? I did mention to Dan that a rake would have been nice. I can't make it during the week because of my classes but if I can, I will go out Friday and bring a rake and clean some of it up.

I got all "down" and "almost down" trees I could see last week with the chainsaw on the red loop. I can do another chainsaw run with my new chainsaw backpack (really cool backpack) through the red loop if needed one day this week. Let me know.
