Default Stream of Consciousness/General Conversation Thread

Have something you would like to say, but don't want to start a new thread just to say it? Post up here!

I'll start.

It's early and I want another 16oz cup of coffee. I don't know if this place can handle me on 2 cups of coffee before 8am but I guess there is only one way to find out...

I have one cup of coffee every day, and that's it. Of course, it's a long, drawn out process that involves a manual burr grinder and a French press. Oh, yeah. It's a quad-shot. One of my good friends is quite fond of my coffee. She calls it 'Jittery Joe'.

Back to the coffee again this morning... Yesterday out here off the coast of Venice, Louisiana we had almost zero visibility for the entire day due to fog. For about 30 minutes around 3pm it started clearing up and then went right back to crap. Maybe I will get to fly home today. We will see...

Back to my morning coffee.

i've been roasting my own coffee for about a year now. i get an 8 lb assortment of green beans from happy mug coffee for $42. i made a roaster out of a toaster oven. it takes about 30 minutes and stinks up the whole neighborhood. the stuff i roasted yesterday is ethiopian. it roasted differently than others i've roasted and this morning when i tried it, it had an odd flavor. looking it up online verified that it has a unique blueberry flavor.

I'm more of a whatever is in the kitchen kinda guy. Out here offshore it is Community Coffee exclusively. At home I just throw something in the Keurig and go. My roommate on the other hand does grind his own coffee and uses a press. Carl, you are just going above and beyond with the roasting!

On another subject, On Facebook I had a person ask the PORC page if anyone was riding today. So if anyone goes riding this afternoon or tonight after the rain please give it a check and see if that guy wants to go with. I forgot his name and do not have access to Facebook until after 4pm (work policy).

Community, New Orleans Blend.
That's coffee with chicory, for the uninitiated. That's what I grew up drinking in South LA, and don't care much for anything else except an occasional espresso.

If anything were an acquired taste that would be it. I have tried to like it but could not get my pallet to go along with that idea.

Now I'm your big mall dropper, mud duck stopper
Fila on the bottom and Adidas on the topper
Transform scratchin', big beat mackin'
I can tell you're getting jealous by the look I'm catchin'
I hate dumb skeezers, MC beater
Drop 5 grand on my Bird watt meter?
Smooth like ice, don't get nice
Just turn up the box for the Mix-A-Lot slice (huh huh)

Y'all ready to get busy? (huh huh!)
Now, buttermilk biscuits here we go
Zip the flour roll the dough
Clap your hands and stomp your feet
Move your butt to the funky beat (huh huh)

Buttermilk biscuits
Buttermilk biscuits
Buttermilk biscuits

Freak from L.A. to the Carolinas
Dip them suckers in Aunt Jemima
Don't make a difference what food you make
Use buttermilk biscuits to clean your plate
You eat 'em in the morn', you eat 'em at night
Kentucky Fried Chicken makes the suckers just right
I am eat 'em with jelly at my favorite deli
Wrapped and sealed by a freak named Shelley (huh huh)

Buttermilk biscuits
Buttermilk biscuits
Buttermilk biscuits

One day I kissed my freak, hit the street
Looking for something to eat
In a 18-wheeler, lookin' real swass
All the girls smile 'cause I'm the big boss
Said, "I gotta eat now, can't eat later"
Made a lot of noise to attract my waiter
The boy walked up, and what did he say?
"Say, buttermilk biscuits free today!"
So what you waitin' on boy, get up shake a leg
Gimme 10 of them suckers with grits and eggs
A glass of Koolaid and a whole stick of butter
Them biscuits make me a superfast cutter (huh huh)

Now grab that can and wrap it in your hand
Bang that sucker till the dough expands
Cook them suckers up in your oven
Grab your girlie and get a little lovin'
Add a dab of honey if you want to get funny
Microwave those suckers if you want your honey runny
Time to get naughty at the Mix-A-Lot party
And rub them suckers all over your body (huh huh)
