Default 4 More hours on Cambodia/Carl's trail

2 hours each for Melanie and I. We got out there about 4:00 with the intention of taking my truck back to Wantz Way to take out the fallen tree, got all the way out there (Brett I think that was you I passed on the power lines) and realized that I forgot to bring the chain saw. Okay, that's my blonde moment for the year. I don't think I have EVER been that frustrated with myself. So, we cleared out a path on the power line that I'm going to use for the Turkey Run then went around to do some more work on Cambodia. The reroute and new bridge that Ed and I started last week at the bottom of Cambodia where it meets Carl's trail is almost complete. The trail has been rough cut and the bridge has been built. Still have to cut out a large tree that's laying across the trail and a stump (I still can't freakin believe I forgot the stinkin chain saw ), do some raking, and put a few carriage bolts in the bridge. Everything should be done by the 2:00 ride tomorrow.

Default 3 more hrs today

I put in three more hours today. Some was spent clearing the tree on Wantz Way, the rest was to open the Cambodia reroute, shore up the new bridge w/ lag bolts, and hang new signage. The new trail still needs a rake put to it and trim a few tire spears, but after that all it will need is a little traffic.

Total so far on Cambodia / Carls' trail = 16.5 hrs

If you guys see anything that needs to be done or suggestions, just post it here. I won't take it personally.

when you come acroos the signs, one with a horse and one with a bike, pick the pick. Sounds obvious but it confused me.

Yeah, There will be two signs at both entrances to the reroute. One has and horse with the arrow pointing straight ahead (down the original trail) and the other sign has a bike, a horse with an "x" through it, and an arrow pointing either left or right, depending on whether you are riding Carl's/Cambodia or Cambodia/Carls respectively. Hopefully, this will deter the horse riders from trying to cross the new bridge. I'm fairly sure they will damage it if they do. I want to put a sign on each side of the bridge that says "500 lb weight limit" or something like that, but just didn't have the time to put it together last night.

move the red and green blazes while you're at it, if you don't mind.

Some super cool guys broke off my horse signs. I may remake them out of 2x6 instead of plywood next time, if at all. If any of you know who did it, tell them they were made to keep the horse folks off our new trail not made by the horse people.

No. My guess is it was bikers, not horse people. Why would they knock down their own sign? The bike one was left up on both sides of the reroute. I think some bikers (though not very smart ones) misinterpreted what the signs were saying and knocked them down. The sign may make it may look like the original trail is only accessible by horsesback riders to people with below average intelligence.
