Default Want to get more involved?

After this past Monday’s board meeting, we have decided to add 3 new positions to the board of directors. Here are the 3 positions and their responsibilities:

Events Coordinator– This position will be responsible for determining format of PORC group events and organizing those events. This would include any potential races or competitive events. This position would also be responsible for gathering support and assistance for any other off-road events in the area. Responsibilities would NOT include being the point person for the Scratch Ankle 100 or Toys for Tots Epic, but would include helping in some capacity with those events.

Trail Maintenance Coordinator – Responsible for evaluating problem areas and possible trail improvement projects and organizing groups to address those areas/projects. This person would also be responsible for developing ways to get more TM involvement from the general membership

Communications Coordinator – Responsible to all communications to PORC club members, including emails, event flyers, social media, and PORC.org message board. This position would also be responsible for collecting input from the membership on specific needs or how the club can better serve the bike community. It would be helpful to have some (very little) knowledge of graphic arts for making flyers and such

-All directors would be required to attend board meetings that are typically scheduled every 2-3 months and give a quick report during general membership meetings as well.
-We ask that these director positions have a 2 year commitment to the board.

Please keep in mind, you will get significant support from the board on these responsibilities….you will NOT be solely responsible for all of these duties. The long term goal is to create committees for each one of these areas that would assist the director with their duties as well.

Let us know if you’d like to take on one of these positions or if you’d just like to commit to assisting the coordinator in one of these three areas. We’ll probably have a quick get together with the interested folks after the meeting on the 24th is adjourned
